The specific subsidiary we are representing focuses on energy resource development, particularly in natural gas and LNG.
About the Role
We are looking for a world-class commercial leader to join our Energy Business as VP Commercial, driving some of the most strategic and high-impact initiatives across the global LNG value chain. This is a role for a true LNG specialist—someone who brings deep market insight, advanced commercial structuring skills, and the ability to execute complex transactions with precision.
Reporting to the President, Energy Business and based in Singapore, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our commercial strategy, executing priority deals, and unlocking new growth opportunities across Asia and North America.
What You’ll Lead (First 12–18 Months):
You will personally spearhead several high-priority, deal-focused workstreams, including:
- Major M&A Support: Acting as the Singapore-based commercial lead on potential large-scale M&A transactions.
- Gas Supply Agreement Negotiations: Leading or supporting complex GSA negotiations with strategic counterparties.
- Offtake Agreement Restructuring: Driving sensitive, legally complex discussions to unwind or streamline existing arrangements.
- LNG Expansion Work: Delivering early-stage commercial groundwork and strategic modeling for a potential expansion project.
Your Ongoing Impact:
- Provide senior leadership with forward-looking commercial insights on LNG markets, pricing trends, and deal structures.
- Identify and originate new commercial opportunities through active market intelligence and senior stakeholder engagement.
- Lead the structuring and negotiation of major commercial agreements: SPAs, GSAs, HOAs, TUAs, and more.
- Build trusted relationships with key global suppliers, customers, and strategic partners.
- Collaborate closely with commercial teams in Singapore, China, and Canada to strengthen pricing strategies and drive commercial excellence.
What We’re Looking For:
- True JKM Specialist: Deep expertise in JKM pricing, global gas/LNG market dynamics, and the mechanisms that drive value
- Advanced Technical Commercial Skills: Mastery of LNG commercial fundamentals—including multi-year JKM hedging strategies, physical gas market linkages (e.g., Henry Hub), and LNG trading principles.
- Commercial Deal Execution: Proven experience supporting M&A and leading complex commercial negotiations within the energy sector.
Experience & Attributes That Set You Apart:
- 20+ years of commercial experience in the global LNG sector.
- 5+ years in a senior commercial leadership role.
- Strong exposure to East Asian (especially China) and North American LNG markets.
- Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and financial modeling skills.
- A powerful industry network and a reputation for getting deals done.
- Cross-culturally fluent; Mandarin is a plus.
- Degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field.
