Key Responsibilities of a Material Handler in Manufacturing & Logistics
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming raw materials, components, and products, ensuring accuracy against delivery orders and quality standards.
- Safely and efficiently move, package, and store materials throughout the production area using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other handling equipment as required.
- Deliver materials and parts to designated workstations and production lines to support timely manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Maintain clear and organized inventory records in physical and digital inventory management systems; participate in regular cycle counts and stock takes.
- Collaborate closely with warehouse, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless logistics and minimize delays or shortages.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures, report hazards or incidents promptly, and support a clean and orderly warehouse and shop floor environment at all times.
- Assist in packaging, labeling, and shipping of finished goods to customers or other company locations as needed.
- Perform other material handling and supply chain support tasks as assigned by supervisors or team leads.
Material Handler Requirements & Qualifications
- GCE ‘N’/‘O’ Level, NITEC, or equivalent; relevant certification in logistics or warehousing is a plus.
- Proven experience (minimum 1–2 years) in material handling, warehouse, or logistics roles within a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems, basic data entry, and standard warehouse processes.
- Valid forklift license or experience operating material handling equipment is advantageous.
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, and dependable; able to follow work instructions precisely and work under minimal supervision.
- Physically fit, able to lift moderate loads, and comfortable working on your feet throughout the shift.
- Demonstrates commitment to workplace safety, punctuality, and team collaboration; welcomes applicants of all genders and backgrounds.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or weekends depending on production and shipping schedules.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
