Roles & Responsibilities
Primary Functions:
The In‑House Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving manufacturing‑related training programmes to support workforce capability development at Makino Asia. This role works closely with operational and functional teams to ensure training content is aligned with current processes, technologies, and business needs, while complying with WSQ and regulatory requirements.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Training Development & Delivery
Develop, coordinate, and conduct in‑house training programmes in manufacturing‑related disciplines, including both theoretical and hands‑on components.
Design and maintain structured training materials such as lesson plans, presentations, practical guides, and assessments.
Develop practical exercises and on‑the‑job training activities to reinforce classroom learning.
Deliver training through classroom instruction, workshops, and practical sessions on the shop floor where applicable.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with operational, engineering, and functional departments to identify training needs and ensure course content reflects current processes, equipment, and applications.
Customise training programmes to support new hires, existing employees, upskilling, reskilling, and organizational changes.
Assessment & Evaluation
Administer written and practical assessments to evaluate trainees’ competency and learning outcomes.
Prepare training and performance reports to assess trainee progress and programme effectiveness.
Track, monitor, and report training status, attendance, and outcomes to management on a regular basis.
WSQ & Quality Compliance
Develop and conduct Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) course modules in accordance with the national competency‑based framework.
Ensure compliance with WDA / SSG quality assurance requirements, including course accreditation, audits, and renewal processes.
Maintain accurate documentation and records in line with regulatory and audit requirements.
Continuous Improvement
Identify training gaps and issues across functional and technical areas and recommend appropriate solutions.
Propose and implement improvements to training programmes, materials, and delivery methods to enhance learning effectiveness.
Participate in special projects related to workforce development, capability building, and organizational initiatives.
Governance & Compliance
Adhere to all company safety rules and regulations.
Perform duties in accordance with the company’s Quality Policy, Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) procedures, and Work Instructions.
Carry out other duties as assigned to support business and operational needs
Requirements:
Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) or equivalent (preferred; training support can be considered for suitable candidates).
Relevant technical certifications related to manufacturing processes, CNC machining, precision engineering, or industrial operations would be an advantage
Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment.
Prior experience in training, coaching, mentoring, or conducting technical instruction (formal or informal) is preferred.
Experience developing or delivering structured training programmes, including classroom and practical/on‑the‑job training.
Familiarity with WSQ framework, competency‑based training, or government‑funded training programmes is an advantage.
Experience working cross‑functionally with operations, engineering, or production teams.
