We are seeking a committed and hands-on Service Engineer to join our technical support team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CNC machining centres and EDM machines for customers locally and overseas.
This position is ideal for technically driven individuals who enjoy field service work, problem-solving, customer interaction, and working with advanced manufacturing technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
Perform installation, setup, and commissioning of machining centres and EDM machines at customer sites.
Provide pre-installation support and conduct post-installation follow-up checks to ensure optimal machine performance.
Ensure all installations are completed according to company and safety standards.
Technical Service & Support
Provide onsite troubleshooting, repair, and technical support for local and overseas customers.
Respond promptly to customer service requests, breakdowns, and technical issues.
Carry out both scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency service support.
Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues effectively.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare accurate and detailed service reports, maintenance records, and customer correspondence.
Update all service activities and documentation promptly in the system, including expense reporting.
Properly document, label, and return defective parts resulting from repair activities.
Customer Engagement & Training
Educate customers on machine operations, basic maintenance, and preventive care practices.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional service and technical expertise.
Provide technical guidance and support to fellow Field Service Engineers when required.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained, calibrated, and used according to company standards.
Maintain safe work practices and comply fully with workplace safety and health regulations.
Ensure company tools and equipment are kept secure and in good working condition.
Requirements
Minimum ITE / Diploma in Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or related technical field.
At least 2 years of experience in machine tool servicing, preferably involving CNC machine installation and maintenance.
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills will be an added advantage.
Good computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications.
Passion for field service engineering and customer support.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
Able to travel for onsite support, including standby duties on weekends or nights when required.
Willing to travel occasionally for overseas projects and regional support assignments.
